Masters Dance Awards is an annual event which sees Dance Schools and Dance Teams compete for 1st, 2nd ,3rd place and Artistry Awards in Hip Hop, Contemporary/Lyrical and Jazz. The entire day of competition is filmed for television broadcast on Foxtel. Masters of Choreography acknowledges the wonderful efforts of the dance community with an Awards event that focuses on both Artistry as well as the traditional defined point system dictated by set rules and guidelines.
On the day of the event, each genre and age category is represented by various dance routines by all the competing dance teams and schools. These routines are assessed by our Dance Judges, professionals within the chosen genre of dance. Each genre and age group has the opportunity to receive a 1st, 2nd or 3rd placement, as well an Artistry Award in several categories such as Most Entertaining, Best Choreography and Most Original. One team from each Genre and Age Group will also be awarded with a beautifully engraved Trophy as a recipient for Most Outstanding Award. These results will be shown on the televised broadcast of the event.
Within a few days of the event, all dance routines are posted on the Masters of Choreography website where we then open up the event to the public via On-Line Voting! Public Voting takes place over 10 days via the On-Line Voting portal. Here members of the public can view each routine in each Genre and Age Category and can cast their vote for their favorite performance. One Vote is permitted from each registered email address. At the conclusion of the Voting period, all votes are counted to reveal an Overall Winner in each Dance Genre. The Public Vote Winners are then announced at the conclusion of the televised broadcast of the event. All Winners are presented with a beautifully engraved crystal trophy – Masters Dance Awards - Winner Online Public Vote – Hip Hop / Contemporary-Lyrical / Jazz.

Once your troupe registration form has been received and payment has been processed a confirmation email will be sent to you.
An information booklet will also be sent to each participating troupe prior to the competition date with further event information and competition times.
BEST CHOREOGRAPHY – A routine that displayed the most original and artistic choreography.
BEST TECHNIQUE – A group that displayed a high level of training and dance technique throughout their performance.
MOST DYNAMIC – A routine that demonstrated the use of cannons, formations, transitions and unison executed correctly in performance.
BEST GENRE FUSION – A routine that displayed two genres merged together effortlessly within choreography and performance.
BEST PRESENTATION – A group that is well presented with clean and neat costuming that complements their choreography and theme.
BEST PERFORMANCE – A group that delivers the best connection with their performance and theme.
MOST ENTERTAINING – A group that is most enjoyable to watch and demonstrates a high level of performance.
MOST ORIGINAL – A group that has the most original concept for choreography and theming.
MOST CREATIVE – A group who has cleverly used props and costumes to make their routine stand out.
MOST OUTSTANDING – A piece that stands out from the rest and leaves an impact - from performance to choreography to execution. This award represents the judges’ overall favourite piece in each age category of each genre.

Once you have signed in using your email address you can place your online vote.
Sign up and placing your vote online is FREE OF CHARGE.
Each public viewer will receive ONE online vote.

Voting is open from WEDNESDAY 21ST JULY (starts at 9am) – WEDNESDAY 31ST JULY (closes at midnight).
Your vote will be valid for the duration of the voting dates. Once you have voted, no changes can be made.
When voting closes, the votes will be tallied by Masters Of Choreography and the 3 online winners will be announced when the show is premiered on Australia’s Foxtel.
The troupes who receive the highest votes in their genre section will be the 2019 MASTERS DANCE AWARDS winners.
Foxtel air date will be Sunday 11th August at 10.30am.
Online voting is open to the general public and residents of Australia. Voting is applicable to viewers 16 years and over. If viewers are 16 and under parental or guardian consent will be needed to sign up.
